Paddle boarding or SUP health benefits

New to SUP? Green Water Sports wrote a great article “why paddle boarding is so good for us?” Then read their guides for choosing an inflatable SUP paddle board and choosing a SUP paddle.

Here is an excerpt from “Why is paddle boarding so good for us?” at GreenWaterSports.com:

Paddle boarding is a great all over body workout. Head to toe, every muscle is engaged in balancing on the board or during the paddle stroke with the bulk of the effort being done by the body’s ‘core’ muscles. As the name suggests, the core muscles are integral to the support and function of your whole body. A strong core is a strong body.

“It feels like you’re standing on an exercise ball, swimming and cycling at the same time!”

How to inflate a Red Paddle Co SUP

This is a short how-to on how to inflate a Red Paddle Co inflatable stand up paddle board, iSUP or inflatable SUP. The process is fairly simple:

  • Unzip the Red Paddle Co SUP backpack.
  • Remove the inflatable stand up board and pump.
  • Remove the board strap and unfurl it on even ground. A grassy or sandy patch is best.
  • Set the valve into the inflate position (this stops the air escaping when you disconnect pump).
  • Attach the pump line to the board’s valve.
  • PUMP! PUMP! PUMP!
  • Pressure should be at least 15psi but best to pump to 20psi – takes about 5-10 mins depending on your technique and fitness.
  • Don’t forget to attached your stand up paddle leash.
  • Off you go!

Paddling an inflatable stand up paddle (SUP) board

Paddle boarding on an inflatable SUP is identical to paddle boarding on a regular, hard or rigid stand up paddle board. Inflatable paddle boards even come with extra bonuses a hard board can’t offer. They are:

  • User friendly and kid friendly rails and deck.
  • Comfortable footing and deck grip with a natural suspension of the board.
  • And we haven’t even mentioned the awesome portability of a board that rolls up into a back pack and can be thrown in the trunk of even the smallest cars!
